My bike was damaged by a would be thief. It’s been written off by the insurance and they have paid out. They also said I could have the bike.

However some crowd called copart took it up north from Gannons during this process.

First they refused to return it. Said I need a waste license.

I asked them to return it through their agent who took it. They want £220+vat which I’ve agreed to.

Now they’ve changed the deal and want to to produce a waste cert from the environmental agency. They are saying the bike is a UK write off Cat B. It was damaged in Ballymun and towed by Garda to Gannons Swords. They took it up north without my consent.

Has anyone had this before and how did they resolve? I’ve asked them to confirm In writing why an Irish reg bike damaged in Ireland requires any contact with a British based government agency. It seems to take five days between every call to them to get a new computer says no reason out of them.
