First time out on the SXV at Mondello

First time out on the SXV at Mondello

What a giggle. Totally different to riding a sport bike, it’s all slappy and slidey and wobbly and a complete hoot to ride.

The brakes are nuts! The throttle is literally a light switch and the front grip is mental. Much more torque than I thought it had too, made the short track a right laugh. Loads of feedback from the tyres too.

It is a bit tough to hang onto when the front is trying to slap itself silly on the bumps on the straight but after the first session I stopped holding on so hard after my arms pumped up and then it was a bit easier. Jumping from the Ape to the GSXR, all the forces are reversed. The tough part on the arms is braking on the Suzook, where with the sumo, it’s hanging on during acceleration.

Good job by the novices. I’ll be moving up a group next time on the national but might stay with the novices if it’s on the international.

Here’s a vid….2 laps mashed from 3 POVs over 3 laps so the bikes ahead kinda jump around, meeh. Nice moment at 2:04…
