With a icy wind that would have a polar bear looking for shelter, the 1st round of the Irish Championship races took place at Mondello on Sunday.
The weather was very changeable throughout the day and the rain seemed determined to fall each time the Superbikes were coming out, so it was "steady as she goes" for the main part. I think it was Brian McCormack that said it’s only the start of a long season, so it wasn’t a day for heroics.
With that said, there were a few trips to the gravel and a few offs, as far as I know none too serious, but "get well soon" to anyone who was injured.

But most importantly – We’re underway for 2015! :thumbsup2:

P.S. Have a thought for the poor togs who had to expose their naked shooting hands to the elements and risk severe cases of frostbite:biggrin_old::biggrin_old:
