I innocently started looking into the tradeoffs of synthetic vs dinosaur, as my oil level was a bit… uh… low. After spending a good bunch of hours yesterday reading on JASOs, group IIIs, APIs, ACEAs, the 10W-40 particularities and Euro, etc I ended up with three conclusions:

– I know less and are more confused than when I started digging.

– Motorcycle oils are a racket driven by brands pushing fear, uncertaintly, and doubt.

– Fuck this, if it says motorcycle, 4 strokes, and 10W-40 it goes in. Anything in the last decade gets whatever, anything else gets dinosaur goo.

… Or am I missing something in my noobiness?
