Well it blew a Gale last nigh in Northern Italy. Didn’t sleep well as I didn’t know if the bike would blow over, or secondly, what type of neighbour hood I was parked in. Got a dose of the trots during the night too, fuck me, I pity the other guest who shared the same bathroom. At least it happened close to a Jack’s😀

Anyway, bike was fine this morning. Gave the chain a good old spraying last night after arriving. Headed off around 7.30 and had only 270km & 5hrs riding. Ride out of Trento was straight forward. Lovely snow capped mountains all around me. Seen a sign for Stelvio pass. This was not on my itenary, but if I’m this close, I’m going to do it.

As it happens, the pass was closed, but I did do another one which was unreal. Way up in the Alps with deep snow off each side. Kept to the speed limit as I didn’t want hassle from Swiss coppers. Didn’t even have to pay the toll for the pass, just got waved through. Got down to 4c up there. Highlight of my trip by far.

The Sat nav took me on a route that got me onto some sort of glazier train thingy. You drove on to this sort of open carriage train,paid 21 Swiss France and went through a tunnel for about 15 mind. From there is was 60km to vaduz.

Staying in a hostel, just had bite to eat. Dodgy small bowl of fish chowder in a watery, oily base, 2 pints of beer……26 fucking Euro it worked out.
