JONATHAN Rea did the double at Assen this weekend after winning both the first and second race on Sunday ahead of Ducati’s Chaz Davies.

Rea finished off the World Superbike weekend at the Dutch TT circuit in perfect style after fighting with Davies up until the final lap to take the win.

Dutch rider Michael van der Mark grabbed third place yet again after just beating British rider Leon Haslam to the line.

Tom Sykes, as seen in race one, led in the early laps, but faded over race distance to eventually finish fifth ahead of rookie Jordi Torres.

Reigning World Champion Sylvain Guintoli finished one place higher than in race one in seventh ahead of Xavi Fores whilst Alex Lowes had a better race and finished in ninth. Leon Camier brought the MV Agusta Reparto Corse machine home to round out the top ten.

Nico Terol crashed out on lap four and unfortunately has fractured his wrist while Voltcom Crescent Suzuki’s Randy de Puniet retired once again.

The next round of the 2015 World Superbiek Championship will be at the Imola on 10th May.
